Privacy Policy

1. No Data Collection
LockMargin is a 100% local, offline-first application. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal data or usage information.
All data — including client information, invoices, expenses, projects, and financial metrics — remains exclusively on your machine. LockMargin has no cloud backend, no telemetry, and no analytics service.
2. No Internet Required
LockMargin operates entirely offline. The application does not phone home, check for license validation on a server, or require an internet connection for any core functionality.
3. Encryption
All sensitive data stored by LockMargin is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM. The encryption keys are managed locally via your operating system's keychain.
You are the sole custodian of your encryption keys and data. LockMargin has no mechanism to access your data.
4. Purchases & Payments
Payment processing for LockMargin licenses is handled by third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe). We do not store or process credit card information on our servers.
When you purchase a license, your email address is stored solely for license activation and receipt delivery. You may request deletion of this data at any time by contacting us.
5. Cookies
LockMargin's website does not use tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking service.
6. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party services (e.g., GitHub). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these services.
7. Open Source Transparency
Parts of LockMargin are open source. You are free to audit the source code to verify our privacy claims. The encryption implementation is publicly available for review.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We will never retroactively change how we handle your data without your explicit consent.
9. Contact
For privacy-related questions, please open an issue on our GitHub repository or contact us via the repository's discussion board.
LockMargin is built on the principle that your data belongs to you. Always.
